The Proviso Township Youth Services Department has formed a task force for the purpose of addressing local parents’ concerns around youth and young adult suicide. The task force convenes monthly and is comprised of local parents, childcare providers, mental health professionals, and youth service department personnel. The goals of the task force are as follows:

This area focuses on engaging faith-based community around supporting mental wellness.

A transformational evening of connection and support. This Townhall is an opportunity to local residents to learn about available resources, practical strategies and insights on promoting mental well-being.
An engaging community panel/group discussion style conversation dedicated to exploring our emotions and the importance of mental wellness. This forum is about talking openly about "big feelings" from stress and anxiety to joy and hope and how they shape our everyday lives.
Our monthly gathering with mental health community sector advocacy captains to discuss ways to provide support and raise awareness around mental wellness.

Our organization is prevention based and our staff are trained as positive adult mentor/coaches. Our engagement is focused on that positive adult connection, safe space programming, and pro-social events and activities. The circumstance where individuals should reach out for help from LITE is when a person a youth may be feeling alone or doesn't feel connected to a peer group or a parent or caregiver is concerned about isolating behaviors. LITE works with 16 - 24 year olds and we conduct assessments as well as have a behavioral specialist consultant. If a circumstance is noted by our staff we will support engagement with appropriate services.
The Living Room is a safe place where you can talk with a peer if you are experiencing life’s emotional stresses. The trained peer recovery support specialists use their personal experience to help you find and maintain your recovery. Services are free of charge.
Mental Health Services including Integrated Assessment & Treatment Planning, Therapy, Case Management, Telehealth, and Non-traditional Services.
Youth ages 13-22 can reach out if they're interested in talk therapy, we can connect them to a partnering therapist and pay up to 12 sessions. or if interested in Community based programming and/or High school programming at Proviso East and PMSA.
We offer preventative services such as groups, 1:1 peer support, and family support. We are able to help teens in 7th - 12th grade, 12 YO and older, who are experiencing a non-urgent crisis. If they are are experiencing a crisis, we encourage them to utilize CARES, 988, 911/nearest emergency room.
